Last week I shared how upset I was when a deer ate Rebecca's purple petunias. I brought them home and left them outside the back door. For some reason I let them sit there and I would get mad every time I passed by. Then I saw something that redirected my thoughts.bible verses about heaven after death.
Petunias are back in bloom!
It was definitely God's way of reminding me that Rebecca did NOT die. He lives with him.

bible verses about heaven after death
In keeping with my recent habit of God speaking directly to me, I began looking up Bible verses about heaven after death. Thought I'd share a few with you. This is by no means exhaustive. The subject is quite extensive, but these touched my heart and I thought they would encourage you too.
Many times with collections of verses it's hard to understand the full context, so this time I'm linking the entire chapter after each verse. Let me know if you find this useful!
Since my sweet Rebecca was only 8 years old, we will start our collection of Bible verses about heaven after death with a verse about babies.
See that you do not despise any of these little ones, because I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father who is in heaven. (Mateo 18:10NIV)
I joked that Rebecca was fearless and impulsive to the point of needing two angels. Maybe those angels took her to heaven the day she died.
Somehow I hate even reading those verses about heaven after death. I hate that my heart hurts like this. I hate having to live the rest of my life without my sweet Rebecca. BUT I have found peace in these verses and I hope they bring comfort and strength as well.
I would like you to know more about my Rebecca. She was a wonderful girl, full of sunshine and joy! You can read about it, p."Rebecca's Heart".

jesus goes to heaven
The sight of Jesus going to heaven must have been amazing. Can you imagine him flying in the clouds as he gives his final instructions? Sam said that he was going to prepare a place for us.
After losing Rebecca, I found great comfort in imagining her sitting in the arms of Jesus. Most likely, she is speaking into his ear!
And when he had said this, and they were looking on, he arose, and a cloud hid him from their sight. And as they looked up to heaven, behold, two men stood by them in white garments, who also said: “Men of Galilee, why are you looking at the sky? ThisThat's allJesus, who was taken up for you into heaven, will come back just as you have seen him go into heaven.(Acts 1:9-11)
bible verses about death and heaven
These verses about heaven and eternal life are just for encouragement. When I think of all those people who have given their lives for Christ throughout the centuries, I am humbled by the strength of their faith.
Don't let your heart be worried. Believe in God, believe in me too. In my Father's house there are many mansions. YeahwasNOSo,I would tell you. I will prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to Me. Where I amFor thisyou can be too.(Juan 14:1-3)
Taken together, the Bible verses about heaven after death create a picture in our mind that brings us comfort. Paul is talking about such wonderful things that we can't even imagine. My daughter is not only surrounded by love, but beauty beyond anything we have ever seen or heard of.
But we speak wisdom from God in secret, in secretSofiathat God arranged centuries ago for our glory, that none of the rulers of this time knew. if they had known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
But as it says:
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
Nor have they entered the heart of man
What God has prepared for those who love him."(1 Corinthians 2:7-9)
For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also eagerly await the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our humble body into the likeness of his glorious body, according to the operation by which he can even subject everything to himself.(Philippians 3:20-21)
Then he that sits on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And he told me: "Write, these words are true and faithful."
At the end of the century, the land was renewed. Bible verses about heaven after death point us to the end of life as we know it, just to encourage us to accept the wonder and beauty of what this world was like before sin entered.
And he said to me: "That's it! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely from the fountain of the water of life to everyone who thirsts. The victor will inherit everything, and I will be his God and he will be my son.(Revelation 21:5-7)
It wasn't until I started studying it that I realized how many Bible verses about heaven and eternal life were given to us. What a wonderful God we serve, who constantly encourages us and gives us hope.
How does the Bible describe heaven? bible verses about life in heaven
God has included in his word beautiful bible verses about heaven after death that give us a description of heaven. God wants us to have hope and faith to believe what awaits those who love him.
The Old Testament is full of visions of heaven, and some of them are hard for me to understand. For the description of heaven in the Bible, I chose verses from the Apocalypse.Chris Tomlin has a beautiful song.about these verses that have been touring me in recent days. I have included a youtube link if you want to listen.
And he showed a measured river of the water of life, resplendent as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of his way on both sides of the river, wastree of life, each of which had twelve fruitstreebearing fruit every month. Tree leaveswasfor the healing of nations. And there will be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face and his nameLet it beIn front of them.
There will be no night there. They do not need a lamp or sunlight, because God shines for them. And they will reign forever and ever.(Revelation 22:1-5)
Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels around the throne, living creatures and elders. and their number was ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands,12speaking out loud:
"Worthy is the lamb that was slain
To receive strength, wealth and wisdom,
And power, honor, glory and blessing!"
And every creature that is in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, and all that is in them, I heard say:
"Blessing and honor, glory and power
To bethe one who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb for ever and ever!(Revelation 5:11-14)
What a beautiful place to imagine. My Rebecca is safe with Jesus.

roads of gold
Of all the heaven scriptures, the one that mentions the roads of gold is probably one of the most famous.
twelve gateswastwelve pearls: each gate was one pearl. And a city streetwaspure gold, like transparent glass.(Revelation 21:21)
bible verses about heaven after death
when copying allbible verses about heaven after death, I realized that I should have answered the question from last week,"Does sadness ever go away?"different.
Ends. Not here on this physical earth, but in the presence of God.
One more poem. That's how I ended last week's post. Not because it's boring, but because it's my favorite.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there will be no more death or crying or crying. There will be no more pain, because the first ones have passed.(Revelation 21:4)
